This is the biography of Xolisile Zamisa (Nee Zondi), widely recognized as Xoli Zondi. She is a multi-talented personality with a diverse skill set that includes acting, motivational speaking, modelling, and career guidance counselling. She is also renowned for her role as a Master of Ceremonies (MC) in various events.


She was born on the 17th of September, 1983. As of 2023, she is 40 years old.

Early Life and Education

Xoli Zondi was born in Hammersdale, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Raised by a single mother, she pursued her passion for drama, ultimately earning a diploma in drama studies from the Durban University of Technology.

Xoli Zondi Acting Career

Xoli embarked on her acting journey by participating in theatre performances in Durban and its surrounding areas. Her television acting debut occurred in 2006 when she secured a role in the SABC 1 sitcom “Family Bonds,” where she portrayed the character Winnie from 2007 to 2009. However, her breakthrough came when she starred as Zodwa Mabena in the SABC1 soap opera “Generations,” garnering a nomination for the Outstanding Supporting Actress Award at the 2013 Royalty Soapie Awards.

In 2013, she showcased her talent in the sixth episode, “Hamba Voetsek,” of the fifth season of’s anthology series “eKasi: Our Stories,” portraying the character “Smangele.” The following year, she played the role of “Ntsiki” in the SABC1 sitcom “Single Galz.”

In 2016, Xoli Zondi assumed the supportive role of “Nqobile Gigaba” in the drama series “Greed and Desire” on Mzansi Magic. Her diverse television appearances also include “Single Galz” as Ntsiki and “e-Kasi” (season 5) as Smangele in “Zabalaza.”

In October 2020, Xoli made a remarkable return to the screen, taking on a significant role in “Imbewu: The Seed” as Violet Vilakazi.

Apart from her acting career, Xoli Zondi is dedicated to hosting acting workshops, providing a platform for both emerging and established artists to enhance their acting skills.

Personal Life

Xoli’s life took a dramatic turn at the tender age of 16 when she became a mother. In an interview, she shared that despite the challenges, the support from her family and her unwavering faith in God helped her navigate the unexpected journey of motherhood.


Xoli Zondi has been open about her love life and her marriage to ward councillor Phiwokuhle Zamisa. Their relationship began early and although they briefly separated in 2012 after a decade of dating, fate brought them back together in 2016.

They tied the knot in 2017, celebrating their love with two weddings. The first was a traditional wedding ceremony held at her husband’s home in July, followed by a white wedding in December, creating lasting memories of bliss.

Xoli Zondi is a loving mother of two daughters. Her first daughter, Mandy, was born when Xoli was just 16 years old and has since grown into her teenage years.

The actress maintains a strong and open line of communication with her daughter. Her second daughter, Ukusa, was born after her marriage, and her name, which means “Dawn of a New Day,” symbolizes the joy she has brought to the family.
