Thulisile Phongolo is a popular South African TV star who works as an actress, DJ, and voice-over artist. She became well-known for her character Namhala Diale on Generations The Legacy, in which she acted on until 2018. She also starred in Tshisha’s third season as Zama, which was her first acting job. Thulisile also briefly worked as a presenter on e.tv’s Craz-e with Stephanie Sandows, Kriya Gangiah, and Zola Hashatsi.
Age and Early Life
Thulisile was born in Soweto, South Africa, on January 22, 1994. She is currently 29 years old. She grew up in a family of three with a sister and a younger brother. Her family is wealthy, and she had a comfortable childhood, but not much is known about them.
She attended Allen Glen High School, located in Roodepoort, Johannesburg. After graduating from high school, she joined the University of Johannesburg to study strategic marketing communications.
Phongolo’s acting career started with her role as Zama on Tshisa, a TV series by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).
Later, while serving as a prefect in high school, she played Namhla Diale on Generations: The Legacy. After leaving the show in 2018, she acted in Makoti, another TV series by SABC, and The Republic, a TV series by Mzansi Magic.
In November 2021, she was part of The Wife, a telenovela adaptation of Hlomu: The Wife by Dudu Busani-Dube on Showmax. At the same time, she was also announced to be starring in the film I Am Sofia.
Apart from being an actress, Thuli Phongolo is a brand ambassador for some big brands. She has worked for baby soft, Levis Jeans and even Ivy Park. On top of that, she is making it big as a DJ and is one of the most booked female DJs in South Africa.

The media personality does not like to make her love life public. For that reason, her boyfriend is not known. However, she has been rumoured to be dating DJ Maphorisa in the past year. They both cleared the rumours and said they were just industry friends despite the suggestive picture they posted.
However, earlier in her career, Thuli Phongolo dated Raphael Griffiths, who is known for his role as Zithulele Bhengu in Imbewu: The Seed. The two, however, broke up because of their different financial standings in society. Thuli’s family did not approve of her boyfriend because he was poor.
