Biography: Stevel Marc is a Jamaican actor, model, photographer and author who has appeared in various films and television shows in South Africa, the United States and other countries. He is best known for his roles as Poulson in the BAFTA-nominated film The Mauritanian (2021), Tyler ‘Trig’ Raines in the action series Professionals (2020-2022), and Yasopp the Great in the anime adaptation of One Piece (2023).

Early Life and Education
Stevel Marc was born on August 16, 1983, in Portland, Jamaica. He is the first of two children for Jasmine Williams and Carlton McDonald. He attended Titchfield High School, where he was honored as Mr. Titchfield 2000. Stevel developed an interest in acting and modelling from a young age and was discovered by Dwight Peters of Saint International Modelling Agency.
He moved to South Africa in 2003, where he signed with Ice Model Management and Artist Connection. He also enrolled at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre to hone his acting skills. In 2008, he furthered his studies at the New York Film Academy and TVI Actors Studio in Los Angeles, California.
Stevel Marc Career and Achievements
Marc started his career as a model and a voice-over artist, appearing in various commercials and campaigns for brands such as Revlon, BlackBerry, Coca-Cola, KFC, Nescafé, Standard Bank, Samsung Mobile, Budweiser, Toyota, and the South African Tourism Board.

He also worked as an emcee for corporate events with companies such as Master Card, Heineken, Fashion Television International, De Beers, Sony, Calvin Klein, BlackBerry, and the FIFA World Cup.
Stevel made his film debut in the critically acclaimed and award-winning thriller Of Good Report (2013), where he played a detective. He then landed roles in other films such as The Challenger Disaster (2013), Outpost 37 (2014), Dear Betty (2014), My Zulu Promise (2013), Donor (2014), The King’s Rook (2014), Anything for Wifey (2014), and The Honeymoon (2023).
Stevel also ventured into television, starring in shows such as Black Sails (2014), Hooten & the Lady (2016), Happiness Is a Four-letter Word (2016), Unmarried (2018-2019), Lockdown (2018-2019), Commandos: The Mission (2020), and Professionals (2020-2022). His most notable role to date is Poulson, a CIA agent, in The Mauritanian (2021), a film based on the true story of Mohamedou Ould Slahi, a Guantanamo Bay detainee. The film was nominated for five BAFTA awards, including Best Film.
Stevel is also set to voice Yasopp the Great, a pirate and the father of Usopp, in the upcoming anime adaptation of One Piece (2023), one of the most popular and best-selling manga series of all time. In November 2023, he joined etvScandal! as Sanka, a globally-acclaimed photographer.

Besides acting and modelling, Stevel Marc is also a photographer and an author. He published his first book, The Refined Player: Sex, Lies and Dates, in 2017, a memoir of his dating experiences and advice. He also runs a photography studio called Stevel Marc Photography, where he captures portraits, fashion, and lifestyle images.
Stevel Marc Personal Life
Stevel Marc is currently single but has been linked to several celebrities in the past, such as actress and singer Nandi Madida, model and TV presenter Ayanda Thabethe, and actress and singer Khanyi Mbau. He is a Christian and a fitness enthusiast and enjoys travelling, reading, and playing chess.
