Rapulana Seiphemo is a prominent South African actor and filmmaker, best recognized for his compelling performances in both television and film. He gained widespread fame for his portrayal of Tau Mogale in the long-running soap opera “Generations,” a role he also continued in its sequel, “Generations: The Legacy.”
Seiphemo was born and raised in Meadowlands, Gauteng, South Africa.

In 1991, Rapulana Seiphemo attended Anchor Comprehensive High School in Orlando West, Soweto. He later pursued higher education at Texas A&M University in Brazos County, College Station, USA. During his time there, he concentrated on Bachelor of Arts (BA) studies and graduated in 1995. He majored in English, Acting, Sociology, Theatre Production, and Psychology.
Rapulana Seiphemo’s illustrious career commenced in 1989, marking the onset of his impactful presence in the entertainment landscape. Noteworthy roles in productions such as “How to Steal 2 Million,” “Tsotsi,” and the sports drama “Themba” showcased his exceptional acting prowess. His transition from “Generations: The Legacy” to the Mzansi Magic telenovela “The Queen” in early 2020 underscored his dynamic range as an actor.
Seiphemo, alongside his esteemed business partner Kenneth Nkosi, co-founded the production company Stepping Stone Pictures in 2003. Their creative endeavours led to the production of the film “Paradise Stop.” The company’s influence extended to a 13-part drama series for SABC 1 titled “Task Force” and various content contributions for Mzanzi Magic, including “Laugh Out Loud (LOL).” The duo’s passion for acting education manifested in the establishment of the Fumba Academy for Acting.
In 2023, Rapulana Seiphemo marked his return to “Generations: The Legacy” alongside Connie Ferguson.
Rapulama Selphemo’s wife is Olga Ruberio and the two have been married since 2003. Olga holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Management College School of South Africa and serves as an Executive Director at Le Blaq. The couple exchanged vows in 2003 at The Royal Swazi Sun Hotel in Lobamba, Eswatini.
Seiphemo’s life, like many in the public eye, has not been devoid of controversies. The media has speculated on alleged affairs involving different women. Notably, an alleged affair with actress Zoe Mthiyane, who portrayed his love interest in “Generations: The Legacy,” garnered attention. The relationship ended publicly, resulting in Zoe Mthiyane’s departure from the show.
Following this chapter, reports emerged of another alleged relationship between Rapulana Seiphemo and actress Zandile Tshukulu, the granddaughter of Mfundi Vundla. They worked together on “Generations: The Legacy,” and there were rumours suggesting that he fathered her first child. Seiphemo, however, has not officially addressed these reports.
In a candid interview with Drum Magazine in 2015, Seiphemo openly admitted to having cheated on his wife. One of the women alleged to be involved was Zoe Van Der Jeke from Ceres, Western Cape. Zoe refuted these claims, asserting that her connection with the actor was that of friendship.
In February 2016, Rapulana Seiphemo was involved in a car accident that tragically claimed the lives of three individuals.
Additionally, Seiphemo and two others sustained critical injuries. The incident was initially attributed to an attempted carjacking, as recounted by the actor. However, subsequent investigations unveiled a more complex narrative, resulting in the inclusion of culpable homicide charges alongside the carjacking allegations. It was revealed that Seiphemo had been the driver of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Seiphemo provided his account of events, explaining that the accident transpired during a struggle that ensued between himself and two assailants who were attempting to commandeer his vehicle and potentially cause him harm. Despite his explanation, there were inquiries raised regarding the possibility of Seiphemo driving under the influence. Following the collision, the acclaimed actor underwent minor surgical procedures to address his injuries.
Fortunately, Seiphemo made a full recovery and resumed his professional engagements, including his work on “White Wedding.”
