This is the biography of Rachel Kolisi, she is a South African fitness instructor, social media influencer, former marketing executive, and event manager. She is most widely recognized as the wife of Siyamthanda ‘Siya’ Kolisi, a prominent rugby player in South Africa and the current captain of the national rugby team.

Rachel was born and raised in Grahamstown, a small town in South Africa. She grew up alongside two siblings, a brother and a sister. After completing her primary school education at a local institution, Rachel and her family relocated to Cape Town. Following her secondary school education, Rachel pursued a bachelor’s degree in event management at university.
Rachel Kolisi Career
Rachel embarked on her career as a marketing executive at a firm based in Cape Town. Later, she transitioned to become a professional events manager. Her career path took a different turn when she married Siya Kolisi. A short while after her marriage in 2016, Rachel co-founded the RISE program alongside her friend Tammy Rawstro. RISE is a five-week fitness program designed to challenge and transform women in their weight reduction journeys.

Rachel is known for her marriage to Siyamthanda ‘Siya’ Kolisi, one of South Africa’s most renowned rugby players. Their love story began when they met in Stellenbosch through a mutual friend. The couple’s wedding took place in 2016.

Rachel and Siya Kolisi have two biological children and two adopted children. Their firstborn is a boy named Nicholas Siyamthanda, born in 2015, and their daughter Keziah Kolisi, born in 2018. The two adopted children, Liphelo and Liyema, are Siya’s siblings, and the couple adopted them after the passing of Siya’s mother.
Battle with Depression & Suicide Attempt
Rachel Kolisi, a philanthropist and Siya Kolisi’s wife, courageously shared her battle with depression and a suicide attempt during her teenage years. She attributed some of her struggles to her parents’ challenging divorce, which significantly impacted her life. Rachel revealed that she spent two to three years cutting herself as a cry for help and attempted suicide when she was 15.
In late 2020, Rachel tested positive for Covid-19, separating her from her husband and children while she self-isolated. Her youngest daughter, Keziah, and Siya’s sister Liphelo also contracted the virus. Siya expressed the difficulties of being apart from his wife during her battle with Covid-19 and shouldering household responsibilities. However, in January 2021, Rachel shared the positive news that her family had successfully recovered from the virus after almost two weeks in isolation.
