Pearl Thusi is a South African actress, model, and television presenter known on the local and international scene for her extensive Television career. Her full name is Sithembile Xola Pearl Thusi.

The actress was born on May 13, 1988, in Durban, South Africa. Her original language is called Isizulu, but growing up, people thought she was mixed.

Thusi comes from a place called KwaNdengezi and Hammarsdale in Durban. She has two sisters. She went to Pinetown Girls’ High School. She started studying at the University of the Witwatersrand but left to focus on her career and her child. In 2020, she returned to looking at the University of South Africa.

Pearl Thusi began her career as a model, winning the title of Miss KwaZulu-Natal in 2003 when she was just 15 years old. She then became a model for various fashion brands and magazines.

In 2009, Thusi made her acting debut in the drama series “E.tv’s Family Bonds,” where she played the role of Palesa Motaung. She later gained recognition as Patricia Kopong in the BBC/HBO comedy-drama series “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.”

She fell pregnant and left her studies for her family life and Television career. The actress gave birth to her daughter Thandolwethu Mokoena. Pearl and Walter later go their separate ways, but they still co-parent.

In 2019, Pearl Thusi adopted another daughter named Okuhlekonke Thusi, who became an addition to their family.

Pearl Thusi has been known to throw shade at Bonang Matheba since 2016, and to this day, the two are not close.
