Born in Katlehong on the East Rand, Nthati Moshesh spent her formative years in South Africa. She completed her matriculation at St. Andrews Girls School in Bedfordview. From an early age, Moshesh displayed a passion for drama and pursued her interest in film. She is noted as being one of the first black graduates in Performing Arts from Technikon Natal, showcasing her commitment to honing her craft. Moshesh is also recognized as the aunt of Lindsay Moshesh-van der Byl, an award-winning motivational speaker, and Moneoa Moshesh, a talented songwriter and singer.
