During her break from television, Nombulelo Mhlongo collaborated with the Market Theatre, where she hosted acting classes. During this period, she contributed to the “Pan African Arts Space” project, where she imparted knowledge in writing, reading, music, and drama to young individuals.

Nombulelo Mhlongo later re-entered the world of television with notable roles in several serials produced by Stained Glass Productions. In 2018, she graced the screen in the television serial “Ifalakhe.” Her career continued to ascend in 2019 when she joined the cast of the SABC1 soap opera “Uzalo,” portraying the character “Nomncebo.” In 2020, she took on the pivotal role of “Nurse Sne Mtshali” in the e.tv medical drama telenovela “Durban Gen.”
