Biography: Natasha Sutherland is a South African actress, presenter, producer, writer, motivational speaker and influencer who has been in the entertainment industry for over three decades. She is best known for her roles in the television serials Honeytown, Tarzan: The Epic Adventures and Scandal!. She is also an author of several books, a public speaker who travels across the country and abroad, and a counsellor who helps people overcome their challenges.

Early Life and Education
Natasha was born on 20 November 1970, in Durban, South Africa, the daughter of choreographers Geoffrey Sutherland and Kenlynn Sutherland (formally Ashby). She grew up in a creative and artistic environment and developed a passion for performing arts from a young age. Natasha attended Durban Girls’ College, where she excelled in drama, music and dance. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Drama from the University of Cape Town.

She started her career in the early 1990s as a presenter of the children’s show Kideo, from 1992 until 1994. In 1994, she landed the role of Carrie in the SABC drama series Honeytown. The next year, she returned for a second season. Natasha also participated in the SABC drama series The Uninvited Guest in 1995 and went on to star in a number of other programmes such as Sinbad, Tarzan: The Epic Adventures, and Golden City Dreams.
In 1997, Natasha was cast as Sam Ryan in the M-Net soap Egoli: Place of Gold for its sixth season. She lasted six seasons on the show before leaving in 2003. When the soap aired its final episode in March 2010, it was followed by an 18-episode commemoration series in which prior stars reflected on the show’s events throughout the course of its run. Year 7, the 1998 season, Natasha co-hosted with Darren Kelfkens.`
Natasha then guest starred in an episode of the SABC2 police procedural series Zero Tolerance on July 29, 2004. She also appeared in the TV movie Operation Delta Force in 1997 and the feature film Lioness in 2021. Since 2008, she has been playing the role of Layla McKenzie in the e.tv soapie Scandal.

Her second book, Green and Blue, was published in 2010 and is her first children’s book, which tells the story of a boy who discovers a magical world under the sea. Natasha’s third book, Fairytale (2012), is a novel that follows the lives of four women who are connected by a mysterious book. Her fourth book, Sprokie, was published in 2014 and is the Afrikaans version of Fairytale.
Natasha is also a brand ambassador for several South African beauty and wellness brands, such as Placecol, DNB, and SkinPhD. She is also an editor of Finesse Magazine, a lifestyle magazine for women. She has also directed music videos and worked as a voice-over artist.

Natasha Sutherland was married to Steve Hofmeyr, a South African singer, songwriter, and TV presenter, from 1998 to 2008. They have two sons, Benjamin and Sebastian. Natasha is currently single and lives in Johannesburg with her sons.
