Nandi Madida, formerly known as Nandi Mngoma, is a multi-talented South African artist.
Born and raised in Maphumulo, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, she has made a name for herself as a singer, actress, model, and television presenter.
Her journey to fame began when she collaborated with DJ Franky as a vocalist on the hit single “Tonight,” which was released in 2012.
She was born on March 20, 1988 (age 35).
She is originally from Maphumulo and later raised in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
Nandi Madida is married to Zakhele Madida and they have two children.
After completing her matric, she initially pursued law studies at UKZN and later attended Varsity College, despite her initial intention to pursue journalism.
Alongside her academic pursuits, Madida has been involved in dancing and modeling since childhood, showcasing her talents at a young age by winning the Miss Junior RSA title at the age of eight.
After achieving success in a talent search, she secured a role as a performer at the Gateway Mall in Umhlanga. At the young age of 15 in 2004, she embarked on her first television venture as the host of the SABC2 pre-teen entertainment show called Bling.
The show primarily centered around music and movies, allowing her to showcase her skills and passion in the industry.
In 2011, she made her debut in the music industry with the release of her first single, “Tonight.” This marked the beginning of her journey as a recording artist. Shortly after, she signed with Universal Music Group and unveiled her self-titled debut studio album, “Nandi,” in 2012.
In 2013, she took on a new role as a co-host alongside ProVerb and Dineo Ranaka on the Mzansi Magic Magazine program, All Access Mzansi. This opportunity allowed her to showcase her hosting skills and connect with a wider audience.
The year 2014 brought a collaboration with K.O on the hit song “Skhanda Love,” which quickly gained popularity and received nominations for various music awards.
From 2015 to 2016, she showcased her acting talent by portraying the character Zokuthula Dhlomo in the Mzansi Magic telenovela, The Road. Additionally, she co-hosted the reality series Coke Studio on e.tv during this time.
In September 2016, she took on another hosting role alongside Ayanda Thabethe on the BET entertainment magazine show, BET A-List. This further solidified her presence in the entertainment industry and allowed her to engage with a broader audience.
