Nande Mabala is a South African model who was crowned the second princess in the Miss South Africa 2023 pageant.
Nande Mabala was born and bred in Zwelethemba near Worcester in the Western Cape. At the time she contested in Miss South Africa 2023, she was residing in Observatory, Cape Town.
Both of her parents were in the army. Nande’s father went into exile and ended up working in the army and her mother worked in the navy. As a child, they moved a lot and Nande went to six schools but that helped her to be quick on her feet with getting to know people or adjusting to a new environment.
Growing up she was a shy and timid child. Nande was always in her room reading a book or watching television. As much as she kept to myself, Nande Mabala was also very strong-willed, no one could easily change her mind, which she thinks is a great trait to have.
Her first time outside South Africa was when she visited Mauritius during her appearance on the reality show Crown Chasers where the ten Miss SA hopefuls went on a trip to the country.
Education and Career
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in industrial psychology, political science, and sociology from the University of the Western Cape. In addition to her academic pursuits, Nande serves as a freelance marketing assistant and model.
Career as a Model
Nande Mabala entered Miss Mamelodi Sundowns and was crowned the second princess.
She was crowned the second princess in the Miss South Africa competition on Sunday 13 August. It was her second time entering the competition after not making the selection in 2020. She however took that as an opportunity to better herself and her chances.
