 Early Life

Mzwandile Ngubeni was born in South Africa. However, not much is known about his background, including where he was raised or where he received his education.

Mzwandile Ngubeni Career

Mzwandile Ngubeni’s career spans both presenting and acting. He began his presenting journey in 1994 on the show Wordpower.

Having trained at the National School of the Arts and AFDA, Mzwandile has showcased his acting skills in several feature films, including Witness to a Kill, In Desert and Wilderness, and Jerusalema. He has also appeared in various television productions such as Isidingo, Generations, Unicity, Mzansi, Intersexions, and City Ses’la.

Mzwandile gained significant recognition as the host of the SABC1 television series Choice from 2005 to 2007 and Spirit Sundae from 2009 to 2012. In 2013, he hosted the SABC1 religious program Buzz About Gospel and was a featured guest on an episode of the SABC1 music talk show Zaziwa.

Continuing his television career, Mzwandile had a major supporting role in the Mzansi Magic miniseries Taxi Ride in 2013. He also appeared in other television series like Justice for All, Backstage, Youth Expressions, Be Financially Smart, and Now or Never. Additionally, he had a recurring role on the drama series Umlilo.

In 2017, Mzwandile hosted the SABC2 entrepreneurship and educational reality series Game Plan. He further showcased his acting prowess in the 1Magic soapie The River in 2021, portraying the character of Elvis Baloyi, a devious genius pursuing Lindiwe Dlamini-Dikane (Sindi Dlathu) with the intention of marrying her.

In the same year, Mzwandile hosted the fifth season of the Mzansi Magic reality show Love Back, which premiered on 6 April 2021. Alongside his acting and presenting roles, he is also the director of Theta Sonke Communications.

Mzwandile Ngubeni Personal Life

Mzwandile Ngubeni was previously married to actress Nolwazi Shange. The couple met through work in 2010, and they tied the knot sometime in 2016.

They had a traditional wedding ceremony in December 2021 again, five years after their initial marriage, which was a simpler affair.

However, in 2024, Nolwazi Shange revealed that they are in the final stages of their divorce, marking the end of their 13-year relationship. They separated quietly in 2023, with Nolwazi removing her wedding ring and changing her surname on social media platforms from Ngubeni to her maiden name, Shange.

Mzwandile Ngubeni and Nolwazi Shange have two children together.
