Early Life

Musa Keys was born in Giyani and raised in Flora Park, Polokwane. Growing up, he faced various challenges, as his father was absent, and his single mother had to work long hours to support the family. Despite these circumstances, Musa Keys discovered his passion for music at a young age. Introduced to the keyboard by a friend at Light of the Nation Church, he honed his skills as a music composer and producer. Initially aspiring to become an architect or engineer, Keys eventually dropped out of Damelin, where he was studying Sound Engineering, to pursue his music career.

Known for his infectious melodies, he has produced popular songs like “Hey Wena,” “Samarian Boy,” and “Vula Mlomo,” featuring amapiano giants Sir Trill and Nobantu Vilakazi. His music has garnered significant attention, topping charts and earning him a dedicated fan base.

Notably, his 2021 single “Vula Mlomo” achieved great success and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA). In 2023, he won the Metro FM Music Award for Best Styled Artist, competing against esteemed artists such as Mafikizolo, Sjava, Daliwonga, and Sino Msolo.
