Career as an Actor

Mavuso Magabane’s trajectory in the entertainment industry commenced in earnest in 1998, as he assumed the lead role of ‘Vusi Moletsane’ in the acclaimed soap opera “Isidingo.” This portrayal marked the inception of his prominence within the industry, garnering considerable attention and admiration from audiences. Subsequently, he ventured into the dramatic landscape of the series “Yizo Yizo,” captivating viewers from 1999 to 2004 with his compelling portrayal of ‘Jabulani “Javas” Nyembe.’

One of his noteworthy accomplishments came through his involvement in the Mzansi Magic telenovela “Isithembiso,” which debuted on April 3, 2017. Within this production, he masterfully embodied the character of Keromemang Mtimande, a father whose progeny’s existence remained a concealed mystery until a fateful discovery unveiled the truth about his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Chlodea, who was now entangled with his adversarial figure.

Mavuso Magabane’s career trajectory includes pivotal roles in the police procedural series “Zero Tolerance,” where he adopted the moniker Meshack Mavuso and depicted the character ‘Simiso Mtshali’ during the second and third seasons. His artistic pursuits extended beyond the boundaries of acting, as he exhibited his dancing prowess in the exclusive event “Dancing New Year Special Strictly Come,” which captivated audiences on December 31, 2008.

In 2020, following a brief involvement in the serial “The River,” Mavuso Magabane embarked on a new chapter in his career by joining the cast of the esteemed series “Durban Gen.” In this production, he masterfully portrayed the multifaceted character of Dr Thabo Dlamini, a charismatic individual whose complexities included a reputation as a womanizer, juxtaposed against his matrimonial bond with Dr Precious Dlamini.

In 2023, he was cast as one of the main characters in Smoke & Mirrors alongside Zolisa Xaluva.
