Lungelo Mpangase is a South African actress, model and influencer. She is best known for her debut lead role as Khethiwe on the Mzansi Magic drama series eHostela, as Ntokozo in Mzali Wam and as Xoli on the hit Showmax telenovela The Wife.

Lungelo was born on 26 September 1995 in Ladysmith, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.
Lungelo Mpangase has the face, beauty and brains to make her successful as an actress. Lungelo studied Law (LLB) or Bachelor’s in Law in 2013 and graduated in 2017. In 2017 she enrolled on a course in Aviation or Airways Management and operations at EPT Aviation training.
Lungelo Mpangase Acting Career
She made her acting debut in 2017 on SABC 1’s Uselwa. However, her first significant lead role was as Khethiwe on the Mzansi Magic drama series eHostela in 2020. She then appeared in several Mzansi original films and series, such as Themba Lam, Idlozi and Mzali Wam.
On eHostela, Lungelo depicted Khethiwe, a young woman who aspires to become a maskandi star. She is the daughter of Mndeni, a ruthless leader of a hostel gang, and she faces many challenges and dangers as she pursues her dream of music and love.
In Themba Lam, she played herself in the Mzansi Magic original film, which was made by graduates of M-Net’s Magic in Motion Academy and first aired on Mzansi Magic on 15 June 2019.
In Idlozi, she also played herself in this Mzansi original film, which aired on Mzansi Magic in 2019, while in Mzali Wam, Lungelo portrayed Ntokozo, a graduate looking for work, who gets involved in a human trafficking syndicate led by her biological mother.
Lungelo Mpangase’s most prominent television role is as Xoli on The Wife. The star revealed that she first got to know the story when she read the books in high school and fell in love with the writing style and the characters.
Xoli is Sambulo’s lover in season three of the telenovela, who is a gun-wielding, sexually free and witty woman.
She is not your typical submissive Zulu girl but lives by her own rules and knows the power she has with her body.
She is also very dangerous, as she can switch from washing dishes to shooting a crowd of people in a moment.
She joined the cast of The Wife in season three, which premiered on Showmax on 4 November 2021.
Lungelo is currently dating actor Tiiisetso Thoka. In 2019, she had a near-death experience when she was involved in a car accident that left her with an injured spine, but she eventually recovered. Lungelo says unlike the wild Xoli, she is shy and would never get into a fight.
“I’m from a very strict family where when we talk about sex, we have to be respectful. Xoli doesn’t. She will do it right here, right now. That’s how freaky she is!”
