Telkom South Africa is seeking a highly skilled HR Data Governance and Analytics Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing large volumes of structured and unstructured employee data to identify patterns and trends.
Your insights will inform Telkom’s Group HR Strategy, ensuring data-driven decision-making. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in improving the quality of data by implementing data governance and risk management strategies.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation and management of the Telkom SAP SuccessFactors Human Capital Management (HCM) suite, encompassing various modules.

Job Responsibilities: HR Data Governance and Analytics Specialist
HR Data Governance, Analytics, and Reporting (50%)
- Drive the alignment and integration of all HR systems across the group to enable automated data analytics.
- Identify root causes of data anomalies and provide effective solutions, continuously seeking improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with IT and other divisions to implement HR data warehousing and develop actionable business intelligence solutions.
- Act as the subject matter expert on data governance, ensuring optimization, effectiveness, and efficiency of HR metric practices.
- Design, maintain, and populate HR dashboards, providing regular analysis and monitoring of metrics.
HR Reporting and Intelligence
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc HR trend reports and intelligence to the Chief of HR (COHR) and relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare and provide HR-related information for executive meetings and annual reports.
- Manage all report requests, enhancements, and generation from HR systems.
- Provide expertise on reporting best practices and industry trends.
- Generate strategic insights based on HR analytics and overall trends to support various business areas.
- Utilize HR data analysis to predict future trends and increase operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and internal and external experts to gather insights and inform business decisions.
- Offer recommendations based on analysis of operational metrics and reporting.
- Stay up-to-date on people metrics, benchmarks, and key performance indicators, sharing expertise accordingly.
SuccessFactors Human Capital Management (50%)
- Serve as a subject matter expert on existing SuccessFactors system capabilities and potential changes.
- Support process owners in delivering system updates and enhancements.
- Plan, organize, and test releases before implementation, providing guidance on changes.
- Provide first-response support to HR business partners and process owners utilizing SAP SuccessFactors.
- Troubleshoot and implement solutions for identified challenges.
- Assess client needs for product development.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure technical and configuration requests are addressed.
- Partner with the Data Insights team to produce HR reporting, analytics, visualizations, and KPIs using various datasets.
- Ensure data integrity by collaborating with HR subject matter experts and IT teams.
- Support data integration between SAP SuccessFactors and third-party applications.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and support
Requirements: HR Data Governance and Analytics Specialist
- Desirable certification: SAP SuccessFactors Certification.
- Qualifications: A 3-year degree/diploma (at least NQF level 6) in Information Technology or Data Science is preferred. An HR qualification would be an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in HR Information systems. Experience in HR trend analysis and reporting is desired, as well as familiarity with the SuccessFactors HCM Suite.
- Flexibility to work long hours when necessary.
- Ability to operate effectively at all levels of authority.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying information between stakeholders.
