Hulisani Cecilia Ravele is a South African television presenter, voice artist, and media personality. She first gained recognition for her work as a child presenter and later established herself as a prominent figure in the South African media industry.


Hulisani Ravele was born on the 23rd of January 1988. As of 2023, she is 35 years old.

Early Life

Hulisani Ravele was born in Tshiawelo Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa, as the youngest of three children. Her father, Mr. Ravele, instilled in her the value of pursuing one’s passions, which influenced her career choices. Tragically, her father passed away in 2014 after an accident. Ravele credits her mother as her role model, learning important life virtues such as perseverance, hard work, and humility from her. As she grew up, her confidence blossomed, and she developed a strong affinity for television.


Ravele received her primary and secondary education in Johannesburg, Gauteng. After completing her matriculation, she pursued a BCom in Marketing Management at the University of Johannesburg, graduating in 2008. Seeking to expand her creative horizons, she enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts in Motion Picture Medium at AFDA Media School, from which she graduated in 2017.



Ravele’s foray into television began at the age of nine when she made her debut on the SABC1 show “Pula & Friends.” At eleven, she joined the SABC1 daily youth programming block YOTV as a presenter, solidifying her presence as a YOTV presenter for eight years. This engagement cemented her status as a viewer favorite due to her charismatic on-screen presence. She also contributed her talents to various other media companies, hosting the Sunday night show “My House” on 5FM and presenting the SABC1 game show “Quiz Me” for thirteen episodes. Her extensive career includes hosting the 947 Weekend Breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays from 7-10 a.m. She has amassed over twenty-five years of television experience, demonstrating her proficiency in both live and pre-recorded formats. Ravele was also a part of the SABC1 and SABC2 music talk show “Zaziwa.”


In addition to her hosting career, Hulisani Ravele ventured into acting and appeared in the first season of the SABC1 comedy series “City Ses’la” as the character Thandi.

Hulisani Ravele’s personal life has captured public attention. She made headlines for her relationship with fellow child star Sipho ‘Psyfo’ Ngwenya, which began in 2006 during their time as kid superstars and concluded in 2017 after more than a decade together. In 2021, Ravele introduced her new boyfriend, Kevin Costner, via Instagram.
