Early Life and Education
Herald Mntungwa Khumalo was born in Estcourt, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He matriculated from Marrison Isaacson High School in 1996 and then enrolled at the South African Technikon College, where he completed his course in 1999.
Herald Khumalo Acting Career
Herald Khumalo started his acting career in the early 2000s, appearing in various theatre productions and short films. He gained recognition for his roles as Kotini on Uzalo and Philani Magwaza on Generations: The Legacy. Kotini was a fashionable and soft-spoken gangster who worked with Mageba’s cousin Sobuza, played by rapper Big Zulu.
Philani Magwaza was a mature and secretive businessman who had connections with the Moroka family.
In 2023, Herald Khumalo joined the cast of Smoke and Mirrors, a new etv telenovela that revolves around the lives of four women who work at a beauty salon. He plays Mandla, a two-faced pastor who is involved in shady deals and scams.
