Gogo Skhotheni was born Patricia Tumi Motsoeneng Shange in 1992 in eMbalenhle, Mpumalanga. She grew up in a spiritual family and learned about the ancestral realm from her grandmother. She started having visions and dreams from a young age, which led her to become a sangoma (traditional healer) and a Gobela (teacher) of amathwasa (initiates).

She rose to fame as the star of her own reality show, Gogo Skhotheni, on Moja Love on DStv. On the show, she shares her life as a polyandrous woman who has two husbands and two children. She also showcases her work as a sangoma who helps people with physical, emotional, and spiritual issues. She uses various methods, such as throwing bones, burning incense, and chanting, to communicate with the ancestors and spirits.

Gogo Skhotheni is also a successful businesswoman who owns a cosmetic company called Gogo Skhotheni. She produces and sells products that are made with natural ingredients and traditional herbs. Some of her products include car spray, house spray, isiwasho combo, mphepho tea, multipurpose cleaner, and tea for men. The sangoma claims that these products can bring good luck, cleanse bad spirits, enhance love, and improve health.
In October 2023, she announced that she was venturing into music as a club deejay.

Personal Life and Controversies
Gogo Skhotheni is married to two men: Monde Shange and another man whose name she has not revealed. The sangoma married Monde in 2020 and had a daughter and a son with him. She then married her second husband in 2021 after she received a message from her ancestors in a dream. She says that she loves both of her husbands equally and that they live separately and visit her according to a schedule.

The sangoma’s polyandrous lifestyle has sparked controversy and criticism from some people who view it as immoral, unnatural, or un-African. She has also faced accusations of being fake, greedy, or attention-seeking. However, she has defended her choices and said that she is following her ancestral calling and that polyandry is part of African culture.
