Early Life

Costantinos Tsobanoglou, known professionally as Costa Titch, was born on September 10, 1995, in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, South Africa. With a Greek father and a South African mother, Costa grew up in a blend of cultures. His passion for entertainment was evident early on, and he became a dancer, which paved the way for his future career in music.

While specific details about Costa Titch’s formal education are not widely documented, it is known that he had a profound passion for the arts from a young age. His early life in Nelspruit was marked by a strong influence from his grandfather, a singer and pianist, which likely nurtured his musical inclinations. Costa’s move to Johannesburg in 2014 marked the beginning of his professional journey in the entertainment industry.

Costa Titch Music Career

Costa Titch’s career took off when he moved to Johannesburg in 2014. He initially gained recognition as a dancer. He used to dance for Cassper Nyovest. Later, Costa transitioned into rapping, a move that would define his career. In 2020, he released his debut album, “Made In Africa,” which featured collaborations with prominent South African artists like AKA, Riky Rick and Boity. The album was both a critical and commercial success, establishing him as a rising star in the South African music scene.

His track “Nkalakatha Remix” won the best collaboration at the South African Hip Hop Awards 2020. Another hit, “Big Flexa,” became the most-viewed Amapiano music video on YouTube in December 2022. Costa Titch’s music had uplifting messages and a unique blend of Amapiano, rap, trap, hip-hop, and Afrobeat genres.

In 2022, he collaborated with Akon for a remix of “Big Flexa,” which further elevated his international profile. He received multiple nominations at the All Africa Music Awards 2022, showcasing his significant impact on the music industry.

Tragically, Costa Titch’s died when he collapsed while performing at the Ultra South Africa music festival on March 11, 2023. Despite briefly regaining his footing and continuing the performance, he collapsed again and passed away at the age of 27. His autopsy noted a strain in his heart caused by stress and fatigue. This “likely led to an irregular heartbeat, triggering the seizure that claimed his life,” his family said.
