Charles Baloyi, also credited as Charles Baloi, is a South African actor recognized for his notable portrayal of Dillie in the SABC2 youth drama series “Hola Mpinji!” in 2010.

Education

Baloyi achieved his Diploma in Dramatic Arts from Fuba Academy in 1995.

Career

Transitioning from a sales career at Edgars, Baloyi embarked on a journey to showcase his talents in the realm of broadcasting. He undertook roles in presenting and producing news and current affairs content for Alex FM Community Radio from 1997 to 2000.

Baloyi’s initial exposure to the world of theatre transpired in 1996 with his participation in “We Shall for the Fatherland” during the Grahamstown Arts Festival. This engagement catalyzed subsequent roles in productions such as “Ways of Dying” and “Drop of Faith.”

Baloyi’s presence has extended across various local television platforms. His appearances encompass a diverse range of shows including the documentary “Racial Prejudice,” “Yizo Yizo 3,” and “Soul City” on SABC, as well as “Jozi Streets” on e.tv. Additionally, he has made appearances on M-Net productions.

In 2004, Baloyi showcased his acting prowess in “Homecoming,” a feature film aired on SABC. His talent garnered international recognition through his involvement in “The Trail,” an acclaimed global feature film.
