Early Life and Family
Buhle Samuels was born in Soweto, South Africa, but she spent her formative years in Pretoria North. She is the youngest of two siblings, with an elder sister named Mbali Samuels. Buhle’s mother works as a nurse in Saudi Arabia, providing a nurturing environment for her family.
Buhle Samuels initially gained recognition as the host of the Breakfast Show on Africa Magic. However, her breakthrough came in 2014 when she secured the role of “Matshidiso Mofokeng” on the SABC 2 soap opera, “Muvhango.”
The show’s producers identified her during auditions for “The Lion King” and believed she was the perfect fit for their production. Buhle’s exceptional performance quickly endeared her to fans and earned her a “Best Newcomer” nomination at the 2nd Annual Royalty Soapie Awards in 2015.
After four successful seasons on “Muvhango,” Buhle Samuels decided to leave the show. Her departure was motivated by a desire for change and adventure, as well as a pursuit of her music career.

Buhle Samuels entered wedlock with Thando Sonqishe in a private ceremony on May 2, 2022. While little is known about Thando Sonqishe, his name was associated with the 2017 OR Tambo International Airport heist, during which millions in foreign currency were stolen.
In 2017, Buhle Samuels found herself in the midst of controversy when she publicly shamed a 44-year-old man named Paul Dominick. Mr. Dominick had sent her an email, offering to pay her R250,000 for one night of intimacy. Infuriated by the proposition, Buhle posted a screenshot of the email on Instagram, vehemently stating that she was not for sale. She used the incident to call for an end to the objectification of women and garnered support from her followers.
