Early Life and Education
Bontle Jade-Lee Modiselle was born on October 7, 1990, in Soweto, Johannesburg, to Percy and Grace Modiselle. She spent most of her upbringing in the north-eastern region of Johannesburg, where she grew up alongside her two sisters: model Refilwe Modiselle and television personality Candice Modiselle, who are prominent figures in the entertainment industry.
Tragically, Bontle Modiselle’s father passed away by suicide. His death deeply impacted her as she had dreamt of his actions before they occurred.
Modiselle attended the University of Johannesburg, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Corporate Communications.

Dancing and Early Career
In 2007, Bontle Modiselle embarked on her dancing career by participating in dance classes and activities under renowned choreographers. Her journey in the entertainment world commenced as a music video model and occasional dancer, collaborating with notable artists such as DJ Tira, Rouge, and Major League DJz. Her dancing skills led her into the acting sphere, marking her film debut in the dance-drama film “Hear Me Move” (2014), where she portrayed the character “Khanyi.”
Television and Hosting
Bontle Modiselle made her television debut on February 6, 2016, as a co-host on the SABC 2 reality competition series. “Showville,” alongside actor Rob van Vuuren. She also presented an award with her sisters at the 2016 South African Film and Television Awards.
In June 2017, she became the presenter of e.tv’s music show “Club 808.” Modiselle continued her hosting journey with the second season of the SABC 1 rap battle competition series “One Mic,” premiering on February 7, 2019.
On July 31, 2021, Bontle Modiselle co-hosted the 27th ceremony of the South African Music Awards alongside Lawrence Maleka.
On November 5, 2021, she took on the role of hosting the Telkom Monate Vibes musical show, which airs on SABC 1. In the same month, she launched her own dance studio in Maboneng, Johannesburg.
Before venturing into dancing, Modiselle worked as a choreographer for various events and shows. She was the main choreographer for the African franchise of the MTV musical competition series “Lip Sync Battle” in 2016 and participated as a choreographer at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2016. Notably, she served as the head choreographer for the Castle Lite Unlocks edition event headlined by Meek Mill in June 2019.
Bontle Modiselle’s talents extended to dance performances in various events, including the Basketball National League (under a group called Set It Off) and The MultiChoice Diski Challenge.

In February 2023, Bontle Modiselle had the honour of attending the Roc Nation Grammy brunch, where she mingled with renowned international stars, including the likes of US singer Beyoncé and Jay Z.
In March 2018, Bontle Modiselle was named the new face of Revlon South Africa, alongside actress Michelle Mosalakae and television presenters Luthando Shosha and Kim Jayde Robinson. She featured prominently in promotional commercials, championing the concept of “Dance Proof” with regard to Revlon’s ColourStay makeup.
Bontle Modiselle Personal Life
Bontle Modiselle is married to rapper Ricardo Moloi, professionally known as Priddy Ugly, whom she met in 2009. On August 19, 2019, they announced their pregnancy via social media, revealing Modiselle’s baby bump.
They subsequently tied the knot on September 28, 2019, in a traditional African wedding ceremony. The couple welcomed their daughter, Afrika Bonita Lerato Moloi, into the world soon after.
