Amanda du-Pont is a South African actress, model, and television host. Originally from Swaziland, du-Pont gained recognition for her roles as Senna in the CW drama series “Life is Wild” and Sharon in the SABC 3 comedy-drama “Taryn & Sharon.”

Currently, she is starring as Ashley in the Netflix thriller series “Shadow.” Additionally, du-Pont is known for her performance as Nompumelelo ‘Lelo’ Mthiyane in the SABC 1 soap opera “Skeem Saam.”

Age

Amanda was born on June 26, 1988.

Early Life

Du-Pont hails from Manzini, Swaziland. She comes from a diverse background, with French, Italian, Portuguese, and Swazi ancestry.

Growing up in Manzini, she resided with her cousin Alulutho Du Pont, who is also Swati. Eventually, they relocated to Mpumalanga to complete their education at Uplands College.

Career

Du-Pont has had notable roles in various projects throughout her career. In 2014, she played a leading role in the feature film “Between Friends” and had a recurring role in the popular South African television program “Skeem Saam.”

From 2012 to 2016, she co-hosted the SABC 1 celebrity lifestyle magazine show “Real Goboza” alongside Phat Joe. Du-Pont has also appeared in other notable productions such as the CW drama “Life is Wild,” SABC 2’s “Muvhango,” “Intersexions,” “Generations,” Mzanzi TV’s “Loxion Bioscope” series, and the 2015 feature film “Hear Me Move.”

In February 2019, it was announced that she would star in the Netflix thriller series “Shadow.”

Education

In 2011, Du-Pont achieved a significant milestone by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the South African School of Motion Picture and Live Performance in Johannesburg.

The following year, she furthered her education at the New York Film Academy in New York City, where she was granted a full scholarship in recognition of her scholastic excellence.

Awards

At the age of 21, Du-Pont received a prestigious Lifetime Achievement award from Swaziland’s Department of Arts & Culture.

This recognition was bestowed upon her for her remarkable accomplishments in the fields of film and television, as well as her dedication to promoting the Swazi language and culture.

Personal Life

Du-Pont married Shawn Rodriques in 2020. The couple divorced in January 2023.
